My Ideas About Pictures

People often ask me why I take so many pictures. Pictures provide a great way to record a moment in time. I enjoy taking pictures and I enjoy looking at pictures. So if you seem me wandering around at a Square or Round Dance with a camera, that's why. I enjoy sharing these pictures so I generally put them on my Web site. The images that I add to my web site are cut down in size and resolution suitable for the Web. If there you see a picture for which you'd like to get the full size image, please let me know and I'll find a way to get it to you.

I also enjoy taking pictures at weddings, picnics, and other events. I am available for hire at what I believe are reasonable prices compared to a professional photographer. While I don't consider myself to be a professional (i.e. someone who does photography for a living), I think enough of the pictures that I take come out well enough to provide a good record of the event. Check out the pictures that I took for Jim and Mary Lambert (members of Frontier Squares) or Bruce and Roxy Behrens
(members of Brazos Bottom Belles and Beaus).
My philosophy with regard to taking pictures
  • I try to take fun shots that show people in a good light. When I come across a picture that I think is not becomong to one or more of the people in the image, I either delete the picture or crop it to remove the part that doesn't look good. If you see a picture of yourself on my Web site that you think is not becoming, please let me know and I will be glad to remove it. It is not my intention to embarass anyone, I only want to display images that show people at their best.
  • I recognize that some people don't like to have their picture taken. If you would prefer not to be photographed, let me know. This won't hurt my feelings. I don't want to do anything that makes someone uncomfortable.
  • Some people prefer to have their picture taken with others (spouse, significant other, friends, etc... If this is your preference, please let me know and we can round up others or wait and take the picture when there is someone available with whom you would like to be photographed.
  • If there is someone or something that you think would make a good picture, please let me know and I'll be glad to take a shot. I don't catch every "Kodak Moment".
